University Boulevard drive-thru Starbucks now open

Coffee lovers can get excited because another Starbucks location is opening in Tuscaloosa.

Starbucks is the world’s largest coffee chain and the University of Alabama will have three full locations on-campus starting Monday, Aug, 21. The other locations are at the Alabama Student Center and on Paul W. Bryant Drive; several on-campus food venues also serve Starbucks-branded beverages.

The newest location is on University Boulevard next to several other restaurants and the Million Dollar Band practice field.  This drive-thru only location features a double-lane drive-thru and walk-up ordering.

The project cost more than $2 million, according to the campus’ online Capital Projects Portal, and will be staffed by the University of Alabama’s food service operations team.
