MOBILE BOY, 6, IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER DOG ATTACK

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) – A 6-year-old boy is in critical condition after authorities say he was attacked by a pit bull.

Mobile Count Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Myles said the boy was attacked Monday evening near Mobile. The victim and his family were at a home, playing outside while the dog was chained up in a yard.

Myles said at some point the dog charged at the boy, pulled itself off the chain and latched onto the child’s throat.

As of Wednesday evening, the boy was in critical condition at Children’s of Alabama hospital in Birmingham.
