Mind Changers hosts community day Saturday

Hundreds of children and their families visited Freeman Park on Saturday for West Side Community Day.

The event, sponsored by Mind Changers, featured swimming, bounce houses, food, music school supply giveaways and community resource representatives.

“A number of organizations have come together to be a blessing to students and parents as they prepare to head back to the classroom in the next few days,” said Pastor Freddie Washington, who helped organize the event.

Washington said he wanted to let residents know that his church, Cornerstone Full Gospel Baptist Church, is available to support parents and their children alongside many other community groups.
