Million Dollar Band on field in full force this year

After a much quieter 2020, the University of Alabama’s Million Dollar Band will be pumping up fans in Bryant-Denny Stadium with their full 400-member might this season.
Last year, the band was allowed only 100 members in the stands during games and could not take the field during halftime, leaving band members and their fans despondent at the lackluster tunes on game days.
But this year they’re back on the field and in the stands with the whole band.
“The blessing of being able to do what we love is not lost on us at all,” said sophomore band member Sarah Hicks.
Million Dollar Band Director Kenneth Ozzell said having everyone performing again is exciting.
“We’ve put some new surprises in pre-game,” Ozzell said. “Our halftime show is called Celebrating 18, so it’s a salute to the National Championship last year.”
The Million Dollar Band rehearses every Saturday morning before a game, and anyone can visit Butler Field to watch from 8 to 10 a.m.
The Elephant Stomp pep rally happens at 2 p.m. on the Gorgas Library steps and then they will march to the walk of champions before kickoff.
