MEN’S CITY INVITATIONAL KEEPS THRIVING

Pritchett Moore

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The “Wimbledon of Tuscaloosa” returns to Indian Hills Country Club next week. The Pritchett-Moore Men’s City Invitational is the largest men’s singles and doubles tournament in Tuscaloosa. The tournament, which begins Monday, is aimed at tennis players from Tuscaloosa county or people with ties to the club, but Indian Hills pro Clint Butler says it’s great to see how the tournament has grown with both the athletes and the fans.

“The best thing about this tournament is just seeing everybody,” Butler said. “I’ve been a part of this tournament for several years and just seeing everybody you might not see during the week or even much at all, but you always see them Pritchett-Moore week, and it’s just families that come out and watch and it’s just big. This patio will be packed with people every single night, and that’s the best thing, seeing people reunite with friends and the camaraderie of just people getting together playing tennis.”
