Memorial Honoring Beauregard Tornado Victims, First Responders Revealed

A New memorial in Beauregard has finally been unveiled. The memorial remembers the nearly two dozen victims of last year’s deadly tornado.

The main layer holds the names and images of the 23 victims etched into the stone monument. First responders and volunteers who rushed to help are dedicated on the second layer. At the top is a cross with the saying “Beauregard strong.”

Tyesha Hart lost her 8-year-old daughter Mykhayla when the deadly tornado swept through town March 3, 2019. Hart said he monument is a beautiful remembrance of her daughter.

“It gives me peace and solace,” Hart said.

In addition, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office added new No. 23 decals to each vehicle in their fleet.

Province Baptist Church, 2807 Lee Road 166 in Opelika is host to this new monument.
