If you’ve been grocery shopping recently, you may be noticing the meat selection at many stores is a bit lacking.

There’s a few reasons for the stocking shortage, but many people are working on stocking up their fridges and freezers and grocers have responded by placing limits on how much meat customers can purchase.

But there’s not a shortage at South’s Finest Meats, owner David Snow said.

Right now, beef prices are high because there’s big demand, Snow said, but those prices should fall once things are closer to normal.

“I don’t think (other grocers) have put limits for any other reason than wanting to take care of everyone,” he said. “But I think we’re going to see as the warehouses fill back up, as the processing plants all go back to work, supply and demand is going to be fine.”
