MEALS ON WHEELS CONTINUES MISSION DURING OUTBREAK
<a href=”https://www.cspwal.com/departments/Meals-on-Wheels.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>Meals on Wheels</a>‘ mission is delivering hot meals to people who are home bound and cannot prepare meals for themselves.
With recent restrictions on travel and gatherings across the country because of the coronavirus, more people are needing their services now than ever.
The organization plans to deliver meals Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. throughout Tuscaloosa County. There are about 90 residents using the service in the area, said Meals on Wheels Director Diane Lewis, and they’re taking extra precautions delivering meals to those residents.
“I have instructed all my volunteers to make sure they keep hand sanitizer in their cars and on their persons,” said Lewis. “Also I’m asking them if they have gloves to wear them. If they don’t, we will provide them just to make sure they’re keeping themselves and their recipients safe.”
