MAN SHOT AFTER PICKING UP MARIJUANA AT WOODLANDS

TUSCALOOSA – A 24-year-old man was shot in the chest and arms at Woodlands of Tuscaloosa Sunday night.

According to investigators with Tuscaloosa County Homicide Unit, the victim saw a bag of marijuana on the ground and picked it up. The victim said he then heard gunshots and realized he was shot. He was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The victim gave officers a suspect description of a 2000’s model black SUV occupied by a black male and black female.

During a search of the area a quantity of marijuana and paraphernalia were recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
