MAN MISSING FOR OVER TWO WEEKS IN WALKER COUNTY
It’s been over two weeks since anyone has heard from or seen 26-year-old Hayden Mayberry.
Investigators said in a press conference that Mayberry was last seen going into a wooded area behind a residence where he was known to stay. Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith told media members items that “it would be hard for Hayden to live without” were found inside that residence.
“I believe we could find anything from Hayden himself to things that may have been left behind as he ran through the woods or went through the woods,” WCSO investigator Carl Carpenter said. “We are hoping to find anything that will help in the case.”
Cell phone data shows Mayberry’s cell phone had not been used since he was reported missing. Mayberry’s child and the child’s mother were at the press conference held Thursday on his disappearance. A search for Mayberry is planned for Saturday.
“I am scared of what we could find,” Jensen Lefan, who shares a son with Mayberry, said. “I am ready to find something. Somebody knows something. They have to.”
The public is invited to help the Walker County Sheriff’s Office with the search. Anyone interested in assisting should plan to meet at the WCSO at 9 a.m. Saturday.
