MAN INDICTED BY GRAND JURY IN AUGUST WRECK THAT KILLED DAUGHTER
A man accused of causing his daughter’s death in a wreck that happened back in August has now been indicted by a grand jury.
Bradley Shane Jones is charged with reckless manslaughter in the death of Emma Jones, 11, along with third-degree assault and possession of a controlled substance.
The wreck happened around 2 a.m. Aug. 22, 2015, when Jones’ vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a fence near Sokol Park in Tuscaloosa.
After investigation, authorities said they developed probable cause to believe that Jones was under the influence during the wreck.
According to court documents, after Jones was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center on the night of the crash, officers found both Oxycontin and Xanax inside a pill bottle in Jones’ pocket. Jones had a prescription for Xanax, but not the Oxycontin.
