Man identified in Lake Lurleen drowning

Alabama State Troopers are investigating a drowning death in Northwestern Tuscaloosa County at Lake Lurleen State Park.

Officers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that 21-year-old Rocael Ramos of Northport drowned in the lake Sunday, July 31 at about 1:15 p.m.

ALEA confirmed that Ramos was swimming with other people when he went under and never resurfaced.

After his body was recovered, Ramos was transported to Northport Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

No further details are known as ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division is still investigation.
