Tyler Battles Sentenced Web

A 31-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison today for his role in the death of a woman whose body was thrown down a well and covered with concrete in 2019.

Tyler Battles, 31, was found guilty in September for his role in the murder of Marka Willoe Watkins.

In July 2019, investigators found the missing 20-year-old woman’s body at the bottom of a 35-foot well in McCalla off Will Walker Road.

Watkins’s cause of death was blunt force trauma and asphyxiation.

Three other suspects were also charged in the case.

Tyler Battles’ wife Monic Battles and Joseph Nevels are still awaiting trial.

Devon Hall accepted a plea deal from prosecutors and is serving a 30-year sentence.
