MAN FROM FAYETTE KILLED IN WEDNESDAY WRECK
A single-vehicle crash Wednesday claimed the life of a man from Fayette.
Johnny Wayne Nichols, 52, was killed when his vehicle left the road and struck a ditch. Nichols, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The wreck happened at 12:12 p.m. on Alabama Highway 171 near the 28 mile marker, about 4 miles south of Fayette.
