Man facing murder charges after Walker County shooting
A 30-year-old man is facing capital murder charges after investigators say he shot into a home and killed a woman from his car.
Walker County District Attorney Bill Adair said Jacob Aaron Thompson is accused of carrying out the shooting on Benny Short Road in Walker County early Monday morning.
Adair said when investigators arrived at the home, they learned a woman had been killed. That woman has not yet been identified by authorities.
Less than 12 hours later, Thompson was arrested in Cullman County.
He’s facing capital murder charges, as well as a charge of shooting into an occupied dwelling.
“The (Walker County) Sheriff’s Office is still investigating whether or not other people are involved,” Adair said. “We believe it’s going to be somewhat limited but, they’re still pursuing some information.”
Adair said they do know of a possible motive, but aren’t yet releasing that information.
Thompson is in the Walker County Jail without bond.
