A man from Greene County is facing charges in multiple Tuscaloosa-area break-ins.

Omar Ezra Knott, 32, was arrested this afternoon and is charged with four counts of third-degree burglary in relation to overnight “smash-and-grab” break-ins that happened Feb. 16, Feb. 22, Feb. 28 and March 3.

Authorities said beer and electronics were taken during the incidents.

Knott is a suspect in at least three similar break-ins that happened at churches and other nonresidential buildings between Feb. 16 and March 3.

Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division identified Knott as a suspect last week, and members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force found him at the apartment off Stillman Boulevard this afternoon.

Knott was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where he’s being held on a bond of $60,000. He’s also being held on outstanding warrants and a probation violation from other counties.
