MAN SUSPECTED IN CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBERIES ARRESTED

TUSCALOOSA – Police say they’ve arrested a man in connection with several robberies near the University of Alabama campus in February.

Arington Karbie McDowell, 22, of Tuscaloosa was arrested on two counts of first-degree robbery today. Police said McDowell is accused of robberies on Feb. 21 at a convenience store in the 1600 block of Hackberry Lane and on Feb. 22 at another store in the 1700 block of 10th Avenue.

Police said McDowell is under investigation for several other cases around Tuscaloosa, and more charges could be coming.

He’s being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a bond of $120,000.
