MAN ACCUSED OF EARLY SATURDAY RAPE BEHIND BARS

Tuscaloosa authorities say a 20-year-old man is behind bars after being accused of raping a woman.

Tuscaloosa County Homicide Investigators said it happened early Saturday morning, when the victim said she allowed Christopher Fricks to come to her apartment at 4 a.m. to sleep because he said he was intoxicated.

The victim, who has a child with Fricks, said she told him she had to be at work and asked that he leave. The victim said Fricks got upset and because slapping and choking her, then asked her to have sex with him. She refused, and he held her down and assaulted her.

Deputies found Fricks near the scene and took him to the homicide office, where he was charged with first-degree rape and then taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail. His bond was set at $40,000.
