Man, 47, dies in Monday night wreck near Buhl

A man from Buhl is dead in the wake of a motorcycle crash Monday in Tuscaloosa County.

The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. on Pate Road, about 3 miles south of Buhl in Tuscaloosa County.

Christopher L. Scruggs, 47, was critically injured when the motorcycle he was operating ran off the road and struck a metal gate. Scruggs was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, where he later died.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the cause of the crash.
