Maddox offers a listening ear Friday at Live at the Plaza
Tuscaloosans who have questions for city leaders could take them right to the top on Friday, as Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox hosted the second of his summer Town Hall meetings during Live at the Plaza.
Maddox chatted with residents about upcoming city plans, their ideas and concerns over city leadership, and he said being available for hearing what his constituents say is a high priority over his 20 years as mayor.
“We have hosted well over a hundred town hall meetings during that time,” Maddox said. “This is an opportunity to be out, knowing there is going to be hundreds and thousands of people here tonight.”
The biggest, most common complaints? Potholes, storm drainage, safety issues, Maddox said. Those are the fundamentals impacting residents lives each and every day.
“For me, it’s very exciting to go out and talk to constituents,” he said. “If they have a problem I want to help solve it.”
