Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey’s Safer at Home order is allowing retail businesses a chance to open their doors again.

While retailers must remain half full at most, business owners said they’re excited to be back open.

In Tuscaloosa, The Locker Room downtown reported a good weekend for shoppers.

“After five weeks, it was great to get back,” said The Locker Room founder Alex Gatewood. “We had real good traffic on Friday and pretty good traffic on Saturday. Just glad to be here.”

Restaurants and close-quarters services such as hair, makeup and nails are not yet allowed open. They will tentatively be opening up again May 15.
