Local Roots

A new business is rolling into town, and the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce hosted a special ribbon-cutting for Local Roots Wednesday.

The business is a traveling food truck that serves dishes made with local ingredients. Owner Dustin Spruill said he’s thankful for the warm welcome he’s gotten from West Alabama so far.

“It means a lot,” he said. “I think people really welcomed us into the community. Tuscaloosa is a great community, and I think people are wanting something different.”

Local Roots is participating in today’s first-ever Trucks at the Track event in downtown Northport. The event, from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., features several local food trucks in one spot off Main Street near the Black Warrior River, just down the street from historic downtown Northport.
