Local church hosting COVID vaccine, testing clinic Saturday

Church Covid Clinic

Saint Paul Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa is hosting a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination and testing clinic Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Booster shots will be available for those who fall within U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. Currently, the CDC recommends a Pfizer booster shot for anyone 65 or older and residents in long-term care settings, anyone 50 to 64 with an underlying medical condition. People ages 18 to 49 with an underlying medical condition may benefit from a Pfizer booster shot, as well as people between 18 and 64 who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure or transmission because of their job or living environment. Pfizer booster shots should be administered at least six months after the completion of the first shot series.

Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines have not yet received recommendations regarding booster shots. Read the full CDC statement on booster recommendations right here.

Anyone wanting a booster shot or second dose at the vaccination clinic must bring their vaccination card along with a photo ID.
