LOCAL CHURCH FURNISHES FOOD FOR RECENTLY UNEMPLOYED WORKERS
One area church is doing what they can to help those who may have lost their job due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Beulah Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa realized there was a need in the community to help area residents who may have lost their jobs or had a reduction in hours during the COVID-19 pandemic. The church is partnering with the West Alabama Action Council to do what they can to help those in need.
“We are aware of families that have jobs for service workers maids, cooks, housekeepers, those individuals who earn low wages and are really who are really struggling, so we felt there is something that we could do,” Earnestine Tucker said. “So we are providing a box of food each week for a family of four.”
Tucker said the only thing you must do is prove you’ve worked within the last 45 days. The service will take place each Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
