Pancakes, potluck and a parade: Christ Episcopal Church came together in celebration of Mardi Gras over the weekend.

“I’m looking forward to watching the little kids go down the aisle for the parade,” church member Lillie Gould said.

During the event, children paraded down the atrium on bikes, trikes and scooters decorated with streamers and beads in the Mardi Gras spirit.

After the parade, church members ate pancakes and had a Cajun potluck.

“Really what that means is where just celebrating Fat Tuesday and so we get ready to prepare for our Lent fast or Lent journey. We have a big party and we just do it with all of our church family and friends,” church member Leigh Cummings said.

The church came together to pray before the big meal.

“A little prayer that we say tonight this is a tradition for us, for everything we thank you Lord for all of that,” Cummings said.
