Local barbers offering free haircuts for kids Tuesday

Some local barbers are giving back just ahead of the first day of school.

Trey The Barber and five other barbers will be giving free haircuts Tuesday at the McDonald Hughes Center from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Last year, the barbers gave 151 children a haircut. Trey James said they’re hoping to cut at least 200 this year.

“Usually back to school is just another holiday for a barber because everybody is looking to get their hair cut for the kids,” said James. “I remember being a kid and always being able to get a fresh cut, but I had a few friends who couldn’t. That developed my passion to always give back and show the kids no matter whats going on you’re never too big to give back.”
