LILY’S STORY — FROM HAITI TO ALABAMA
When the Dobson Family of Hueytown first met Lily in an orphanage in Haiti in 2013, they fell in love. Her parents told WVUA 23’s Jack Royer that they knew they had to bring her home.
Foreign or domestic, the adoption process is a tedious one. The Dobsons say they been through countless struggles to bring Lily home to America, but emphasize there faith was the driving force that got them through the adversity.
Lily needs a specially fitted wheelchair that is quite expensive. Now, she’ll have one thanks to First Priority at Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham, a Christian Bible study group that championed the effort to raise money for Lily.
The Dobsons say it isn’t a done deal quite yet, but they feel closer than ever to bringing Lily home.
