Major League Baseball player Tim Anderson and his wife Bria Anderson hosted their annual Turkey Drive and Fall Festival Monday.

The event was hosted at the Benjamin Barnes YMCA.

Children in the Tuscaloosa community had the opportunity to play games all night.

Anderson started the League of Leaders charity to honor his late best friend.

“Well I had lost my close friend to gun violence, and so we’re just trying to keep his name alive and keep carrying his legacy. I think giving turkeys back to families that really need it is huge. I think it makes it more important being from the city, and I think that is why I come back here a lot,” Anderson said.

The charity gave away 205 turkeys to families.

Last year’s event was successful, and Anderson wants to be able to continue this tradition for years to come.
