LAWMAKER HAS BRILLIANT IDEA FOR STATE BUDGET: GET PEOPLE ONLINE TO PAY FOR IT

One Alabama legislator says he’s got the perfect idea to fix the state’s budget: Get people to pay for it online.

Republican State Sen. Paul Sanford, R-Huntsville, said he’s started a GoFundMe campaign online under the title “Fund the Alabama State Government.”

Sanfor said he started the $300 million effort to highlight hypocrisy over tax increases in Alabama.

He said residents and lawmakers always suggest them, but always want someone else to actually pay for them.
