JUSTIN ROSS HARRIS IN COURT
A Tuscaloosa man, accused of killing his young son by leaving him inside a hot SUV, last summer, was in court today in Georgia.
Prosecutors say Justin Ross Harris wanted to live a “child-free lifestyle,” and in June 2014 intentionally left his 22-month-old son Cooper in the vehicle to die.
Harris has pleaded not guilty to murder and child cruelty charges and is being held without bond.
He says the boy’s death was an accident.
A series of pre-trial hearings this week will address motions filed by his defense, including one to shut out the media during the hearings.
That motion was shut down by the judge today.
A trial date has not yet been set.
