One of the largest job fairs in Alabama is coming to Tuscaloosa early next month, with more than 2,000 jobs up for grabs.

Alabama Secretary of Labor Fitzgerald Washington said job fairs just like this are keeping the state’s unemployment rate at an all-time low, and he wants that trend to continue.

The Alabama Career Center is partnering up with more than 50 local employers offering more than 2,600 jobs, including the University of Alabama, Polaris Industries, Yokohama Tire, Embassy Suites, UPS and more.

But anyone looking for a job should show up prepared, Washington said.

“Applicants should come to the job fair with multiple copies of their resume, and they should be prepared to interview and come dressed professionally because they want to put their best foot forward to impress the employers in the jobs they have to offer,” he said.

Applicants can pre-register for the fair at

The job fair is happening at the McDonald Hughes Center in Tuscaloosa June 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
