Jacksonville at ACA-Class 4A Playoffs

By WVUA 23 Sports Reporter Dylan Morgan

The ACA Patriots (11-1) were able to outlast the Jacksonville Golden Eagles (7-4) in a high scoring affair at Freedom Field with a 49-35 victory to help push them into the quarterfinals in the AHSAA 4A state tournament.

The Patriots were forced to come back from a deficit in multiple parts of this game due to the outstanding play by the Golden Eagles defense. They forced some early turnovers, while the offense was able to capitalize and put up points on the ACA defense which has been stifling at times this season.

Overall, the Patriots were able to overpower the Golden Eagles in the end due to the play of their dynamic quarterback, Sawyer Deerman, who was able to attack the defense through the air and on the ground, coming through every time ACA needed a big play.

The Patriots will now move onto the quarterfinal round of the 4A state tournament as they will travel to Prichard, AL to take on the Vigor Wolves (11-1) on Friday, November 19, 2021, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. with a chance to move on into the semifinals for the AHSAA 4A State Championship.
