Northport is closer to adding another fast-food option for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Jack’s has broken ground and construction is well under way. The fast-food offering features burgers, chicken, salads and more, and this location will be the first in Northport. There’s already a location in Tuscaloosa on Hackberry Lane just off the University of Alabama campus.

The new location is on Highway 43 between Rose Boulevard and the Clear Creek Neighborhood, near Tuscaloosa County High School.

Northport Mayor Bobby Herndon said it’s a welcome addition to the area.

‘We’ve been wanting a jack’s for a long time,” he said. “It’s going to fit in real well, and be a real quality of life improvement. It will be very well used, I’m sure.”

The restaurant is expected to open in about three months.
