Moundville Native American Festival6

The Moundville Native American Festival runs from Oct. 4 to Oct. 7.

As schools get out, more and more summer programs are starting up. Kayla Scott from the Moundville Archaeological Park sat down with WVUA 23’s Lynn Brooks to talk about what the park has in store for kids this summer.

The Saturday in the Park program, specifically, is a series of demonstrations and presentations related to Native American culture, crafts, technology archaeology, natural history and more.

The program will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of or inside the Jones Archaeological Museum. The program is free with paid park admission.

Moundville is located 13 miles south of Tuscaloosa, off Alabama Highway 69. Park admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors 55 years and older and $6 for students.
