The Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority has a new executive director.

TCIDA announced Danielle Winningham will begin her new role Aug. 10. She said she has big plans to bring more jobs into the Tuscaloosa area.

Some of her ideas include completing a brand overhaul, work with existing companies to help their plans grow and work with local colleges and universities on what kind of jobs current students are looking for.

Winningham is working with the University of Alabama and other colleges in the area to understand what kind of graduates are coming out of these schools.

“It is all about what our workforce can sustain and can help us grow,” Winningham said.

The new executive director is targeting technology, automotive and other industries.
