INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF DECATUR MAN

DECATUR, Ala. (AP) – Decatur police say an accident at a steel plant has claimed the life of an employee.

Authorities responding to a call at Independence Tube about 4 a.m. Wednesday found a worker dead.

Police say the man was working in the plant when a steel coil weighing about 6,000 pounds fell on him.

Police say no foul play is suspected. Authorities are withholding the victim’s name until relatives can be contacted.
