It is a sad day for the Alabama Football family as superfan Walt Gary passed away this week at the age of 36.

Gary became a staple for the football program as he would visit the team every Thursday before each game.

“Walt Gary was a special part of the Alabama football program and our hearts are broken by the news of his passing,” coach Nick Saban said in a news release. “He was beloved by everyone on our team, in our athletic department and throughout the Alabama family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Walt’s family, friends, and everyone who and loved Walt as much as we did.”

Athletic Director Greg Byrne along with former Alabama players took to social media to share their condolences.
