HWY 82 CRASH CLAIMS ONE LIFE
A morning collision claimed one life in Tuscaloosa County Thursday morning.
An SUV and a dump truck transporting asphalt were involved in the accident.
It appears the collision occurred when the SUV was attempting to turn onto Highway 82 off of Sam Sutton Road. The identity of the victim driving the SUV has not been released.
He succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
The crash left the dump truck turned over on its passenger side on the small bridge that runs along Highway 82 just west of Sam Sutton Road.
The driver of the dump truck was able to exit his vehicle and was transported to DCH for injuries.
Traffic was diverted to County Road 140 in Coker, resuming on Highway 82 at Westwood School Road.
Coker native Becky Beck was on the scene of the wreck and tells WVUA 23 this isn’t the first time life has been lost at this intersection.
The accident is still under investigation.
