Medical workers like nurses and doctors are leading the charge against the COVID-19 outbreak, but their efforts to help patients leaves them especially vulnerable to the virus. However, they’re using proper protocol to protect themselves and other non-coronavirus patients from getting the virus.

“I would say the big majority of them you know handle this like the pros they are the professionals that they truly are although, I think all hospitals have probably seen an increase in call ins and things like that,” said Brian W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital CEO Doug Brewer.

Even though hospitals are filling up with COVID-19 patients who desperately need attention, hospitals are still having to care for patients who were there prior to the outbreak.
