HAYS WEBB SWORN IN AS DISTRICT ATTORNEY TODAY

Hays Webb

Hays Webb took the oath of office today, becoming Tuscaloosa County’s newest district attorney.

Gov. Robert Bentley appointed Webb after former DA Lyn Head took a position on the Board of Pardons and Paroles in August.

Webb said his biggest intentions with his new position are cleaning up the case backlog, getting in touch with victims and getting the community involved.

“I expect us to be considered to be one of the finest law offices within Tuscaloosa County,” he said. “And I want us to be considered one of the finest, if not the best district attorney’s office in the state.”

Webb, a Republican, is facing Democratic nominee Dennis Steverson in the general election Nov. 8.
