Have your own storm shelter? Emergency Management Agency wants to know

If you have a personal storm shelter in Tuscaloosa County, the Tuscaloosa County Emergency Management Agency wants to hear from you.
Anyone who has a personal storm shelter, whether it’s built inside the home or outside, is encouraged to register their shelter with the EMA.
Your information won’t be shared with the public, but it will be used by first responders in case of a disaster — if they know a shelter exists, they know to check for people inside it.
Starting this year, taxpayers who built or install a qualified storm shelter at their primary residence may be eligible for a tax break.
