Hamilton wins Hale County Sheriff primary race

In the Hale County Sheriff Primary Election, Michael Hamilton defeated Willie J. Bryant with 53.53% or 1,273 votes.

Hamilton, the current City of Greensboro chief of police, will represent the Democratic ticket in the November election. If elected, he would be the second Black man to serve as Sheriff of Hale County.

The first Black man to hold the position, Kenneth Ellis declined to continue his tenure as Sheriff of Hale County after 15 years.
