Hale County Offering School Meals for Virtual Students

HALE COUNTY, Ala- The Hale County Board of Education is doing its part to make sure no child goes hungry as hundreds of their students attend school virtually.

Students being offer grab and go meal boxes available for pickup once a week at designated bus stops.

Meals include five breakfasts and five lunches.

“There are a lot of children who need our meals,” said Hale County Schools Child Nutrition Director Kelley Whatley.

Whatley said many students receive breakfast and lunch from school. 

“That’s why it’s important for us to provide healthy nutritious meals,” said Whatley. 

To receive a meal box, parents must fill out a permission form.
