WVUA 23 News caught up with Hale County Commissioner Donald Anderson last week to see how the county is doing in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Anderson, whose district includes Sawyerville, said for the most part things are fine, but there’s one thing he wishes residents would do.

“I just wish people would take it seriously,” he said. “From a county perspective we are doing what we have to do. We have a problem with people calling about the courthouse being closed, but we also had to look at those individuals that they had to go home to their families.”

The county is waiting on sanitation supplies that are on back order, Anderson said. Once those get in, Hale County’s government should be ready to move forward.
