The Tuscaloosa Police Department and the State Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are currently investigating the case.

Investigators told WVUA 23 there is surveillance footage of the break-in, but it is not being released at this time. Also, no details were given on the weapons stolen from the store. However, it is verified that more than 10 were taken.

TPD Capt. Brad Mason said incidents like this one can lead to more violent crimes near and far.

“What you see a lot of times is the guns used in a crime are not guns that are bought over the counter,” Mason said. ” They’re stolen guns. This is more than 10 guns that were stolen from a business, so we’re concerned that they’re going to end up in the hands of someone that’s gonna commit a crime or maybe someone that’s not able to possess one legally. We want to do those things. We want to do everything we can to stop the gun violence.”

If you have any information on this case, please contact the Tuscaloosa Police Department or the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. You could be eligible for a $5,000 reward.
