GUN SAFETY GROUP SEEKS CHANGE TO FIREARM POLICIES
Moms Demand Action is a group of around 4 million members nationwide. Their purpose is to promote gun safety.
Over the weekend, members of Tuscaloosa’s local chapter met at Heritage House Coffee and Tea. With 96 people dying every day due to gun violence, they wanted to make a change. Judy Taylor said she believes in the right to bear arms, but hopes people will become more responsible about it.
“I am a gun owner,” Taylor said. “I am a supporter of the Second Amendment. I think it’s very important that we retain the Second Amendment. But as a gun owner, I feel a personal responsibility for the safety and the management and the security of my gun.”
Moms Demand Action all started after the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
