For the first time since 2019, the Tuscaloosa County Chapter of the National UA Alumni Association held its fall kick-off event in the North Zone at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Tuesday.

It’s a family-friendly event with a pep rally and door prizes, featuring cheerleaders, the million-dollar band, and Big AL getting everyone in the spirit.

The guest speaker was 2009 Alabama National Championship quarterback Greg McElroy.

“It doesn’t matter what kind of donation you make, or what your contribution level is,” said McElroy. “If you just contribute the passion and energy that makes this place special, we’re going to be in a great spot,”

McElroy is a sports talk show host on WJOX in Birmingham and also a college football analyst for ESPN and ABC.

His message to the alumni Tuesday evening was how proud he is to be one of them.

“I always remind them (Alumni) of how proud I am of being a member of the alumni association,” said McElroy. “Being apart of this incredible University,It’s a special place, and I try to relay that message.”
