Safe Schools

Several West Alabama school systems are switching to at-home learning in the wake of rising COVID-19 numbers.

Pickens County School District announced this week that they’re switching to remote learning through at least Jan. 11.

Superintendent Jamie Chapman said faculty and students will return to in-person learning Jan. 12.

Greene County Schools are transitioning to virtual learning beginning Jan. 7. Students will return to their classrooms in person on Monday, Jan. 24.

Teachers will remain at their schools, and lunches will be delivered for students.
