Greene County Hospital

Residents of Greene County now have access to a newly-improved emergency room at Greene County Hospital.

According to Dr. Marcia Pugh, the CEO of Greene County Hospital, the renovation included bigger rooms and new equipment. All rooms have restrooms, new lighting and windows to help take better care of residents all around Greene County.

To celebrate the grand opening, the hospital put on an event with special guests, refreshments, speakers and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Cutting the ribbon was special guest Ollie Bragg. Bragg was the very first patient Greene County Hospital ever helped when she delivered her son there in 1961.

“I think it’s a great idea,” Bragg said. “I think Mrs. Pugh is really moving forward.”

All of these changes have come just in time for the hospital’s 58th anniversary this November.
