Greene County, Alabama working to get more residents into homes

Tuscaloosa Home Sales Increase

The University of Alabama and the Housing Authority of Greene County are teaming up to help more residents become homeowners.

The UA Center for Community Based Partnership’s Home First program supports participants on their way toward owning a home or preventing foreclosure by focusing on financial education, one-on-one support and program referrals.

An informational meeting for the Home First program is happening from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the housing authority, located at 429 Branch Heights Drive in Eutaw.

The meeting covers home-buying topics including preparing for home ownership, credit building and debt reduction.
